Having spent considerable time with the elderly people as a geriatric care Worker, l have developed my ability to motivate and make a difference in the life of my clients. I exercised this skills by building my client's self- esteem and self-confidence and making them independent within the confines of their physical and emotional state. My ability to build rapport is what l consider to be my most significant attribute. l have excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills and am comfortable working in virtually every situation. Booking appointment and arranging transportation using my organizational skills has really prepared me for a career as a Home Support Worker. While working at Amazing Grace Home For The Elderly in Nigeria, I was exposed to preparing delicious and healthy meals, going for shopping spree for my clients. Through this experience, l have gained deep conviction that improving the quality of care for the elderly is the best way to improve society. I have introduced staff-development program. improved weekly competencies of staff and able to accommodate 45% increase in clients volume using existing staff without compromising quality standard. I have progressed as far as possible. As a result, l have decided to take on new challenges in a growing firm, that's why I'm applying for this role.
l had an interest in caring for people and performing personal hygiene, light housekeeping, engaging clients with their family and friends and giving daily status report. I strengthened my interest in communication, so l learnt how to communicate effectively with my clients. l have developed several information systems related to clients management using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
